This week at SIHA!
The grades are getting their chances to have as much fun as they can in the computer lab! From googling pictures to watching videos to playing educational games, the FUN DOESN'T STOP! All grades have worked so hard all year and definitely deserve to have some fun in computer class. I couldn't be prouder of our students progress and how far they've come!
Kindergarten:
Ms. Syetta
I am so proud of kindergarten! They all did an amazing job at graduation. They have worked very hard this year and they have grown and progressed so much both academically and socially. In between practicing for graduation and the Spelling Bee, we continued comparing the story Peter Pan to the movie, read a non-fiction story about firefighters, worked on our reading comprehension, and solved many mixed addition and subtraction problems.
First Grade:
Mrs. Perles-ELA
We had a great week of "Lasts." It was the last time that we took out our Flashforward workbook because we finished it and the last time we had Vocabulary for homework because we also finished it as well. We enjoyed choosing our own spelling words with the theme of summer vacation. We will have our last spelling test and our last word of the day. It is so exciting. We had Mikai's birthday party. Naturally the theme was soccer. For the last blog let me wish you a wonderful summer!

Third Grade:
Mrs. K-Judaic Studies
Since we are approaching the end of the school year I gave my students an opportunity to ask me any question on any topic in Judaic Studies. Everyone was given a piece of paper to write down something privately. Each day I chose a few student's questions or topics to discuss with the class. This week we spoke about the concept of a G-d and how do we know that He exists. We also went into great detailed discussions trying to understand why Hashem gave us the Torah and how do we know that it's real. The students gained a tremendous amount from this question and answer series and hopefully they developed a better understanding of their religion.
Ms. Regina-ELA
This week we read various versions of Cinderella and wrote our own version based on the actual story. Many of the plot points stayed the same, but we put our own twist on them and many of the us came up with very creative ideas. Miss Regina is really proud of our class and can't wait to see what we do in 4th grade!
Mr. I-Science
We began our unit on the solar system and hit the ground running. In only one period we were almost able to complete the presentation! Kudos to third grade! We will continue next week.
