The third grade played a fun Ivrit game to review Hebrew grammar concepts. The students came to the board to pick a post-it that would reveal a question. If the student got the answer correct he/she would keep the post-it. The students surprised themselves as to how much they
knew. Although intimidated at first, they quickly managed to gain the confidence needed to answer the questions in front of their class. We learned a very powerful lesson from the story of Rabbi Akiva. Akiva was a simple uneducated man who only began to study the aleph bet at the age of 40. With much encouragement and support from his wife Rochel, Akiva became known as Rabbi Akivah, one of the most famous Torah giants of all time. The lesson to never give up and always aspire to greatness rang loud and clear. The students promised themselves to always reach for the stars and never give up on their dreams no matter how unattainable their dreams seem.
